The Cupcake Lady

When I entered the Yuppiechef Cupcake Competition in 2010 I never dreamed my “Soft Serve” cupcakes would become so popular!

For the competition, I wanted to do something I had never done or seen before, and it took me a couple of days to come up with the Soft Serve cupcakes. As is usual, inspiration struck when I was doing a delivery for someone else and an ice cream van drove past me!

Since then, I have done this cupcake icing in many flavours and colour combinations, but the most popular is still a two-tone, pink strawberry and white vanilla butter icing swirl with a Flake in it.

I have also put this icing on vanilla and on chocolate cupcakes, and its a lot of icing on a cupcake, but it creates an air of nostalgia AND its delicious!
